Specimen Type: Whole blood

Container/Tube: Light-blue top (citrate)

Specimen Volume: Full tube

Specimen Minimum Volume: 2.7 mL

Collection Instructions:

1. Tube must be full. (Do not underfill or overfill tube.)

2. Send specimen Room Temperature in original tube.

Alternative Specimen Type: Frozen Platelet Poor Plasma

1. Centrifuge whole blood sample

2. Pipette off top 90% of plasma without disturbing platelet layer

3. Centrifuge plasma

4. Pipette off top 90% of plasma without disturbing platelet layer

5. Freeze plasma

6. Send frozen
