ROM Plus*

Important Note

*This test is orderable in Cerner as ROM Plus and replaces the Amnisure test

The ROM Plus test is a rapid, non-instrumented, qualitative test for the in vitro detection of amniotic fluid in vaginal secretions of pregnant women.

While both the Amnisure and ROM Plus are useful tests for fetal membrane rupture, the ROM Plus detects both Alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) and Insulin like growth factor-binding protein 1 (IGFBP-1) using a monoclonal/polyclonal antibody approach, improving the sensitivity.

ROM Plus is performed in the Birthing Center and all positive results are considered critical and will be called to the floor.
