Note: This test should be used for inpatient testing or specimens that can be collected at 160 Allen Street and brought to the lab immediately on ice.

Specimen Type: Whole blood

Container/Tube: Dark-green top (lithium heparin)

Specimen Volume: Full tube

Specimen Minimum Volume: 1 mL

Collection Instructions:

1. Immediately place specimen on wet ice.

2. Send specimen in original tube.

3. Tube must remain unopened until test is performed.
