For quantitative determination of intact parathyroid hormone (iPTH) in plasma. This assay is intended to be used to aid in the differential diagnosis of hyperparathyroidism and hypoparathyroidism.

Specimen Type: Plasma  

Container/Tube: Lavendar EDTA

Specimen Volume: Full tube

Specimen Minimum Volume: 1 mL plasma Collection Instructions: If pre-processing before sending to the Lab: Allow to clot 30 minutes, (but not longer than 2 hours), centrifuge, refrigerate and return to the Lab.

Reference Values

18.4 – 88.0 pg/mL (Reference range is based on normal calcium levels.)

Reportable range: 6.3 – 2000 pg/mL
