Ion-Selective Electrode (ISE)

Includes base excess, bicarbonate, calculated hematocrit, chloride, ionized calcium, glucose, hemoglobin, lactate, O2 saturation, pCO2, pH, pO2, potassium, and sodium.

Specimen Requirements

Specimen Type: Whole blood                    

Container/Tube: Dark-green top (lithium heparin)                

Specimen Volume: Full tube

Specimen Minimum Volume: 2 mL

Collection Instructions:

1. Immediately place specimen on wet ice.

2. Send specimen in original tube.

3. Tube must remain unopened until test is performed.

Glucose: 67-93 mg/dL
