Specimen Requirements

  • Specimen Type: Bronchial Brush
  • Container/Tube (Preferred): Sterile container with 1 mL of sterile saline 
  • Acceptable: Specimen must arrive within 15 minutes of collection
  • Specimen Volume: Entire brush
  • Collection Instructions:
  1. Collect specimen using a bronchial brush
  2. Place brush in container with 1 mL of sterile saline.
