Important Note

Patient should be fasting, as reference range obtained from fasting individuals.
Sample is stable at room temperature for 1 hour. If sample cannot be delivered to laboratory in ≤ 1 hour, then sample should be collected on ice, centrifuged immediately and plasma transferred to another tube and refrigerated for delivery to the laboratory.

Samples can be collected at the Laboratory Outpatient Phlebotomy sites, but the sample must be placed on wet ice for transport to the lab.  These samples that are on ice must have the plasma removed from the cells within 4 hours of collection.

This test should only be drawn at the 160 Allen St Draw Station.
