Specimen Requirements

Specimen Type: Whole blood   

Container/Tube: Light-blue top (citrate)  

Specimen Volume: Full tube

Specimen Minimum Volume: 2.7 mL Collection Instructions: TUBE MUST BE FILLED TO LINE ON TUBE. (Do not under fill or overfill tube.) Send specimen in original tube.

Reference Values

Therapeutic Ranges:

0.3 to 0.7 IU/mL : DVT/PE Treatment

0.3 to 0.5 IU/mL: Unstable Angina /NSTEMI/STEMI/Excessive bleed risk/Bridge therapy

Critical Values

>1.09 IU/mL
