Specimen Requirements

Specimen Type: Blood  
Container/Tube: Serum
Preferred: Light-green top (lithium heparin gel)

Acceptable: Gold top, serum gel

Specimen Volume: Full tube

Specimen Minimum Volume: 2 mL

Collection Instructions:

1. Blood for a peak level should be drawn 30 minutes after completion of intravenous infusion.

2. Send specimen in original tube.

3. If there is a delay in transport of >1 hour, centrifuge tube.
