Hemosiderin evaluation may be added to the Urine for Cytologic evaluation request by entering on the requisition or in the Cerner Order Comment Tab

Specimen Requirements

First voided urine preferred 

Minimum volume is 10mL 

Specimen Collection and Transport

Collect specimen in sterile container

Stable at Room Temperature.

If collected after hours, please refrigerate. If delay of >12 hours from specimen collection, add up to 30 mL of CytoLyt® fluid to container, and refrigerate all portions.
