Specimen Requirements

Specimen Type: Whole blood

Container/Tube: Lavender top (EDTA)

Specimen Volume: Full tube

Specimen Minimum Volume: 1 mL

Specimen Stability: Room Temp: 24 hours;  48 hours: 2-6° C (Differential - 24 hrs)

Collection Instructions: 
1. Invert several times to mix blood.

2. Send specimen in original tube.

Additional Information: Specimen is stable for 48 hours when refrigerated and 24 hours at room temperature.

Absolute neutrophils: ≤0.5
