Specimen Requirements

Specimen Type: Whole blood

Container/Tube: Lavender top (EDTA)

Specimen Volume: Full tube

 

Specimen Minimum Volume: 2 mL

Collection Instructions: 
1. Invert several times to mix blood.

2. Send specimen in original tube.

Additional Information: Specimen is stable for 48 hours when refrigerated and 24 hours at room temperature.

Includes RBC count, WBC count, hemoglobin, hematocrit, MCV, MCH, MCHC, RDW, platelet count, and MPV.
