Specimen Requirements

  • Specimen Type: Nasopharyngeal Swab
  • Container/Tube (Preferred): Flocked Mini-swab in Universal Transport Media (UTM)
  • Specimen Volume: Entire specimen
  • Specimen Stability: 3 days refrigerated
  • Collection Instructions: Send the specimen to the Laboratory immediately after collection. Specimens not forwarded immediately must be refrigerated (2-8°C), and be transported to the Laboratory within 8 hours.
