Specimen Requirements

Specimen Type: Body fluid
Container/Tube: Dark-green top (lithium heparin)

Specimen Volume: 5 mL

Specimen Minimum Volume: 2 mL

Additional Information:

1. Indicate specimen source.

2. LD activity decreases at cold temperatures. Avoid storing specimen at 2° C to 8° C. Specimen cannot be frozen. 

3. Unspun specimens are stable for 2 hours or less. If samples are spun they must be separated into an aliquot plastic tube and be properly labeled.
